Game 13: GlenLyon Norfolk vs. Unity Christian

This game was a tight battle right up until halftime as the two tallest teams in the tournament went head to head.  After a tight first half Unity was up 26 23.  It was a different story in the second half as Unity Christian exploded with 47 second half points and defeated GlenLyon Norfolk 73-41.  Mariah Bruinsma led the way for Unity as she scored a tournament high 34 points in the game.  GlenLyon Norfolk was led by Rose Woodward and Rachel Courtice who had 13 points each.  GlenLyon will now play Abby Christian on Saturday for 3rd place in the tournament.  Unity Christian will play at 5:45 on Saturday against Immaculata Catholic School from Kelowna to see who are the provincial champions for Senior "A" Girls in 2008-2009.

Game 14: Abby Christian vs. Immaculata

This was a tight game throughout but Immaculata's full court press proved to be too much for Abby Christian to overcome.  Although Abbotsford Christian led early (by as much as 9 in the first quarter) Immaculata battled back to a 36-32 lead at half and through aggressive defence and quick ball movement eventually defeated Abby Christian 75-60.  Abbotsford Christian was led by Kylie VanEyk who scored 16 points and Carissa Kampmann who added 12 of her own.  Immaculata played extremely well as a team with four players scoring in the teens.  Abbotsford Christian will now play for third against GlenLyon Norfolk on Saturday and Immaculata will play Unity Christian from Chilliwack at 5:45 to determine provincial champions for 2008-2009.

Game 15: Mulgrave vs. Kamloops Christian

After going into half with a four point lead (35-31), Kamloops Christian came out the stronger team in the second half and only allowed 2 points against in the third quarter.  The final score was Kamloops Christian 63-Mulgrave 44.  Abby Grinberg continues to make her case for a position as a first team provincial All-Star as she lead Kamloops Christian with 24 points bringing her tournament average to 29.3 points per game.  Breanne Reid and Danielle Edinger also had strong games with 13 and 11 points respectively.  Mulgrave was lead by K. Cyr with 17 points and J. Hills with 15 points.  Mulgrave will play Bulkley Valley Christian on Saturday for 7th in the province at 12:45 and Kamloops Christian will play Cedars Christian for fifth place in the province at 2:15.

Game 16: Cedars Christian vs. Bulkley Valley Christian

This was a close game through the first three quarters as we had scores of 19-19 at half and 33-28 for Cedars Christian after the third quarter.  However, in the fourth quarter Cedars Christian came out firing and outscored Bulkley Valley Christian 20-6,  making the final score 53-34.  Cedars Christian had fairly balanced scoring throughout their lineup but were led by Kate Goertzen with 19 points.  Bulkley Valley Christian was led by Megan Onderwater and Lee-Ann Jaarsma who had 12 points each.  Bulkley Valley will now play Mulgrave for 7th in the province and Cedars Christian will play Kamloops Christian for fifth in the province at 2:15 on Saturday.

The images from the last game and the closing ceremonies have been up loaded to the galleries, please enjoy them.

Some have asked how long the images will be up on the website. At the moment there is not a definite time line, but there is no reason they shouldn't be available for the next month at the very least.

If you are interested in the images there are several ways you can receive the images...

For $100 we will burn a DVD(s) of all the pictures from the games your team played in and from the opening and closing ceremonies. These images are 10Mb images taken on an Olympus e510 camera. The DVDs are great for a team to get as you can share them around and print the images you want.

We can also print images for you and send them to you.

5x7 prints are $5 each or 3 for $10

8.5 x 11 prints are $15

We can also put together a collage poster of 8 images on 13 x 19 photographic paper for $40. A sample poster is below. It makes a great keepsake.

sample poster

(The number of pictures in the poster is flexible to a certain degree and we will work with you to get something you will be happy with.)

You can contact me through the Contact Us menu item on the left and we can begin the process.

All fund generated through this go to support the SESS Yearbook. We appreciate your support and enjoyed providing this service for you.
